Tax Information

Please be advised that as of June 1, 2026, the Berks County Treasurer’s office will be collecting real estate taxes for the Borough.  Please update your records with the following information:

All future real estate tax payments, correspondence, and inquiries should be directed to the updated contact information listed above.
Borough and County Real Estate taxes are mailed March 1. Taxes paid during the months of March and April are entitled to a discount. This discount period ends April 30. A penalty is applied to any taxes paid after June 30. Any Real Estate taxes that remain unpaid as of December 31 are turned over to the Berks County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.

BERKS EIT – Berks EIT collects the earned income tax imposed on individuals.  For more information on the earned income tax and Berks EIT, visit their  website at www.berkseit.com

2026 TAX RATES

Shillington Borough Real Estate Taxes: 7.14 Mills

  • General purposes – 5.45 mills
  • Streets Improvement – 1.0 mills
  • Recreation – .19 mills
  • Fire – .50 mills

Berks County Real Estate Taxes: 9.013 Mills
(Note: this rate is established by the Berks County Commissioners. The Borough has no control over this rate.)

Governor Mifflin School District Taxes – 33.12 Mills
(Note: this rate is established by the School Board. The Borough has no control over this rate.)
